Ms. Ruiying Zhang

My name is Ruiying Zhang, I am over 70 years old, I am a participant of some activities in the CEFS community and a dedicated volunteer. I was introduced by a friend to join the CEFS Community’s flower and plant group in the fall of 2020 because I am interested in plants and flowers. In May 2021, I taught simple paper cutting once a week on Zoom to the CEFS Family Parent-Child Interaction Group for children ages 5-12 to promote traditional Chinese folk art, to train children’s hand, brain, eye and aesthetic sensibilities, and to develop spatial awareness and geometric concepts. I also took the initiative to forward the Ontario Epidemic Report to the Flower and Plant Group daily for some seniors to read. I also actively participate in the activities of the CEFS, giving suggestions and reminders to the organizers to help them develop and grow, and I also get enriched and happy from the interaction and dedication.
